What are the eligibility requirements for taking a defensive driving course?
- You may not have attended a defensive driving course in the last 12 months to eliminate a citation
- Your citation must be on the list of eligible citations. Most common moving violations are eligible.
- Your ticket will say what your citation violation code is
- Defensive driving school is only eligible for one violation on your citation
- If you were involved in a serious injury or fatal accident, you are not eligible
- If you hold a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) you cannot take a Defensive Driving Diversion Program, regardless of what vehicle you were driving at the time of receiving your ticket
- You must complete your course 7 Days Before your court date
