A formal written process, instruction, ruling or decision of a court.

MVD

The Arizona State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Not Responsible

The term used in civil traffic violations, similar to “not guilty” in criminal cases.  The person denies committing the violation or it is determined by the court they did not commit the alleged violation.

NRVC

Non-Resident Violator Compact.  A compact between several states which disallows a person with a suspension due to unpaid tickets to renew their driver license in their residence state.

Quash

To overthrow or vacate; to annul a summons or warrant, usually for some procedural defect.

Recross

The second questioning of a witness by the opposing side.

TPF

Time Payment Fee.  This is an additional fee that is added to a charge when fines are not paid in full by the time set by the court.

TTEAP

Traffic Ticket Enforcement Assistance Program.  This is a program where the MVD places a hold on a vehicle registration until their court fines are paid in full.
