This is a process available to someone who has obtained a judgment against another person and has tried to collect what they are owed, but the, person who owes them, judgment debtor, still has not paid the debt. In this situation the winning person may file a request for a debtor’s exam. Both individuals will have to appear in court where the winning person may question the judgment debtor under oath regarding the amount and location of the judgment assets of the debtor (e.g., bank accounts, real property).
