FAQ - Probate

What is an Estate?

An "Estate" is a word for the property of the dead person, trust or other person whose affairs are subject to Arizona law.  "State" as it relates to a spouse, includes only the separate property and the share of the community property that belongs to the person who died.  "Property" means anything that may be owned, whether real or personal, or any interest in anything that may be owned.
