Prospective jurors who are otherwise qualified to serve may be excused from jury service for certain reasons and hardships. The jury summons or local jury office can provide the specific reasons or hardships and explain the supporting documentation needed with the request to be excused. Each request is reviewed individually. Potential jurors are encouraged to complete the juror questionnaire truthfully, to the best of their knowledge. Failure to do so is against the law. Jury service is a civic duty and responsibility of every citizen.
