FAQ - Domestic Violence and Harassment

In the fall of 2024, the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) mailed letters to parents who once had an open dependency and/or severance case.

Did you receive a letter? Visit the DCS letter page for more information.

How can I find out if the Order of Protection has been served?

If a Protective Order has been issued by a judge, it is then up to the court to have a sheriff or constable serve the document to the defendant. Unfortunately, you may not be notified when the document is served. You may contact the courthouse and ask which agency was serving the document, then contact that agency to see if service has been completed.
