FAQ - Domestic Violence and Harassment

In the fall of 2024, the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) mailed letters to parents who once had an open dependency and/or severance case.

Did you receive a letter? Visit the DCS letter page for more information.

I completed my petition using AZPOINT, what do I do now?

After a petition for an Order of Protection is completed on AZPOINT, the victim has 90 days to officially file it at a courthouse in Arizona - Find My Court.

If there is a pending family court case (ie. divorce, custody, child support, etc.), filing has to take place at the Superior Court where the family court case was filed. Once at court, the person seeking the Order of Protection will have to provide the court their petition number.
