I live in Arizona and the defendant lives in another state. How do I start a lawsuit?

Choosing the proper court can be complicated and depends on the issue that brings you to court and the individuals involved. If the incident happened in Arizona you may be able to file in an Arizona court. You may want to consult an attorney to better understand your options. For information on how to make and serve a complaint refer to Rules 110 and 113 of Justice Court Rules of Civil Procedure.
