How long do I have to file an appeal?

For general civil cases, you have 14 days from the date the court mailed the judgment or decision to you. If it is a small claims case, there is no right to appeal. If it is an eviction action, the deadline is 5 days from the date of mailing. Weekends and holidays are not excluded from the calculation. They must be counted to determine the deadline. If, however, your deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or day when the court is closed, the Notice of Appeal is due on the next day the court is open.
